Health and Safety Manager

I joined the company in December 1987 in an administrative position. After a couple of years I was given the opportunity to be site based at various Logistics Contracts – initially at the British Library then Croydon Tramlink, Millennium Dome, MoD Main Building Whithall, Barts Hospital and Amex new HQ in Brighton. I then became a Contracts Manager with a brief to look after about six projects – including a lot of enabling works for the 2012 London Olympics. During this time I studied and completed the NEBOSH national certificate in Construction Health & Safety which led me to become Avondale’s Health & Safety Champion. This roll enables me to visit all of our Contracts at least once a month to carry out Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Audits as well as offer advice and encouragement to our Managers.
