Project Description: Avondale provided full logistics support to McLaughlin & Harvey during the construction of BAE Systems’ new state-of-the-art shipbuilding facility on the River Clyde in Glasgow. The vast 170m by 80m hall forms a key part of BAE’s long-term investment in the UK’s naval shipbuilding capability. Avondale’s scope included planning, management and delivery of all site logistics operations to ensure the safe and efficient construction of this landmark industrial facility.

Project Highlights: Avondale’s involvement in this project began in December 2022 and continued through to project completion in May 20025. We remained on site following completion of the project, providing a skeleton crew to assist with the snagging and closeout phase in August 2025. We collaborated with Principal Contractor McL&H to successfully deliver the logistics package, ensuring full compliance with DMS, CLOCS, and FORS standards. This effort included providing comprehensive CO2 reporting. Despite frequent and complex logistical changes, our operatives worked diligently within the site constraints to maintain consistent workflow and drive project completion, with our operatives being recognised as Employee of the Month for five consecutive months, and subsequently fostering a high-performing environment that resulted in our team regularly winning the award on site.
