Avondale pride itself on adding-value to the projects it is involved in. A number of our innovative systems were recognised this year when we were shortlisted in the ‘Best Use of Technology’ category at the Construction News Awards. The systems recognised included our L.O.W.D. system (Live On-line Waste Data) and our Smartphone App ‘Site-Tidy’ which our Site Managers now use to issue waste and Health & Safety non-conformance notices on projects – and with excellent feedback already. The Construction News stated that this year’s competition was fierce and the judges only selected those who demonstrated the very highest standard in the industry.
We see this recognition as acknowledgement of the innovative, competitive and fully-integrated service we provide; introducing fresh ideas to the Construction Industry leading to reduced costs, better service and excellent health, safety and environmental management on all of our projects.
Avondale’s latest innovation is a Smartphone App called ‘Site Tidy’ which provides a way for our Waste Managers to use their Smartphone once they spot an infringement on their project.
Rather than the traditional (and time consuming) method of producing non conformance notices for waste transgressions on site, Avondale have combined the latest in mobile phone technology with a unique, market-leading App to solve one of constructions biggest problems.
Avondale’s Site Tidy App gives us the ability to record and issue Trade Contractors with any action to rectify their non-conformance by a set time or be contra-charged by our Clients. The App will send warning notices with a picture attachment to the Trade Contractor’s e-mail address and a SMS message to their site representative’s phone ensures that they act quickly to address the problem preventing environmental and safety issues arising and ensures that our Clients do not incur additional cleaning costs, or has the ability to recover these costs.
‘Site Tidy’ also has a back-office function which will display all items issued on a dedicated website including the status of the number of pending, late or closed-out issues as well as benchmarking the performance of different Trade Contractors to cut down on time spent on paperwork and administration costs.
The commercial savings for both our systems are considerable and are passed on to our Clients via our competitive pricing of the waste removal element of our works.
